Kingdom Builders…the time is now!

Kingdom Builders is a  Wednesday night men’s large group study that meets year round from 7-9 pm in room 1410, directly across from the Journey’s Coffee Bar on the first floor of the MBC Tyson’s campus.  Men from all walks of life and all ages and demographics are welcome to join us, no registration or advance notice is required.

This group is geared toward men who want to become disciples of Jesus Christ and make disciples of other men.  Our mission is to prepare and equip the saints for works of service and ministry, for the purpose of building up the body of Christ (Eph. 4:12).  Our vision is to see mature men, united in faith and grown up in their knowledge of God, express the fullness of Christ everywhere they go and to live as the salt and light of the earth (Eph. 4:13; Matt. 5:13).  As Kingdom Builders, we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matt. 6:33), and we are fulfilling the King’s mandate to reproduce heaven’s culture right here on earth (Rom. 14:17; 1 Peter 2:9) as His ambassadors (2 Cor. 5:20).

We meet every week, year round, to delve deeply into the Word of God followed by seminar-style facilitated discussion, small-group/table break-outs, testimonies, and prayer.  Far from simply absorbing more knowledge about God, we are committed to developing an intimate relationship with our Father (1 Cor. 8:1).  We seek opportunities to integrate our faith into our everyday life through practical acts of service (1 Cor. 4:20).

Who are Kingdom Builders?

Kingdom Builders seek to recapture the love of our Father and the glory of our King (1 John 3:1; Ps. 24:10).  We are men of strength and integrity who are willing take off the mask and face the truth about troubled relationships and other difficult circumstances because we know who we are, where we’ve come from, and where we are going (John 13:3).  Our lives are bold, authentic, and transparent (Rev. 12:11).  We have goals in our life and we are holding each other accountable to reach our full potential in Christ (1 John 2:6; 4:17).

Through practical coaching, mentoring, and biblical training, Kingdom Builders is making disciples of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:19). Discipleship does not come automatically or naturally; it must be encouraged and taught. It starts with understanding and embracing God's purpose and plan for His creation (Gen. 1:27-28), and then boldly stepping up to fulfill our mandate as men to lead ourselves, our families, and those around us spiritually to be overcomers in all areas of life through the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; Rom. 15:13; 1 Tim. 1:5).  Our prayer focus is for God’s will to be done and His Kingdom to be established and built up on earth (Luke 11:2).

We seek opportunities to further the vision of McLean Bible Church to make a lasting and profound impact in our families, friends, co-workers, and our communities through changed values, beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors.  We do this by embracing and focusing on our core value to transform people into fully devoted followers of Christ (Matt. 28:18-20, Eph. 4:11-16).

Kingdom Builders are men who are willing to live their lives with honor and humility . . . men who are responding to a noble call to live for something greater than their own pleasure, prominence, or gain.  We, like Jesus, have set our face like flint (Is. 50:7) and we are not turning back (Luke 9:62).
