What is the Vision for my child?

We want to see teenagers become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We want to see God lead kids through these years, not the world they live in. And we want to point kid’s "devotion" away from worldly things and to Jesus Christ.

Here's our plan:

Let us work with you in the training process. Give us an hour on Sunday morning and let us provide your student with "teenager friendly" challenges direct from God's word. Help us turn your kids from spectators in the main service to students in The Rock. It is our goal to get them interacting with truth, taking notes, participating in worship, and surrounded by caring volunteers and students.

Send them to our regional bible studies and let us push them towards accountability, biblical training, and fellowship with other students. Teach them the importance of small groups for every Christian - even busy kids from the DC area.

Allow us to interact with them right in the middle of the week on Wednesday night. Amid all the "drama" they feel and see at their schools, they need a fresh perspective from the Lord to counter the pressures from the world. At the same time, they will be able to bring friends who don't know Christ, and be able to use The Rock for Godly encouragement in the middle of a hard week.

All total we would like to minister to your student 5 hours of every week. The school gets them about 30 hours in classroom, and at least 3 or 4 hours for homework. Add in sports and practices and you pick-up at least another 10 hours. In light of these commitments it’s tempting to choose the school, sports, and homework over the ministry of The Rock. Sometimes there is no choice, but, if it is at all possible, give us a consistent time with your student each week.

Our prayer is to produce "fruit that lasts" as Jesus said. We hope that when your students graduate they will be devoted to....

  • Seeking the Lord (1 Chronicles 22:19)
  • Studying the Bible (Ezra 7:10)
  • Prayer (Colossians 4:2)
  • Holiness (Titus 3:8,14; 1 Thessalonians 4:1)
  • Family (Titus 3:8, 14; Colossians 3:20)
  • Church (Acts 2:42, 1 Timothy 4:13, Romans 12:10)
  • Service (1 Corinthians 16:15)
