Jill's House is an integrated auxiliary of McLean Bible Church (MBC) and is dedicated to providing care and support to children with special needs and their families through overnight respite and therapy programs. Established in 2003, Jill's House completed construction on a 42,000 sq. ft. facility in September 2010 to serve boys and girls, ages six through seventeen, without regard to race, religion, or ethnicity.

The mission of Jill's House is to provide a safe haven to which parents can entrust their children with special needs. This allows parents a time of rest. Our staff includes child care specialists and qualified medical and administrative personnel. Jill's House is located in the greater Washington, DC,  area, and is currently an integrated auxiliary of McLean Bible Church. FT - DEVELOPMENT & EVENTS MANAGER
Full time position to manage and execute events originated by Jill’s House and lead various volunteer event committees.  The Development & Events Manager (DEM) will also be available to assist with other aspects of Development, ranging from the Annual Fund to donor/corporate relations.  Responsibilities include:

·  Manage, execute and raise revenue through assigned events.

·  Manage volunteer leaders and committees to achieve their fundraising goals by recruiting and 
    cultivating volunteers who are committed to reaching fundraising goals.

·  Manage Jill’s House event calendar and execution ensuring details are complete and all parties
    involved receive appropriate communications and clear updates on assignments.

·  Cultivate and manage donor relationships connected to Jill’s House through events including
    individuals and corporate relations to reach assigned fundraising goals.

·  Manage other special projects related to fundraising as assigned by the VP of Advancement.

Looking for detail oriented individual able to work with vendors, volunteers and donors in a professional manner and be able to use the experience and skill of others to execute projects and events within a predetermined time frame.  Must be able to delegate assignments and keep assignments on schedule.  Need to be an encourager and enabler of others who understands how to engage staff and volunteers toward execution of tasks. Requirements:   College degree with minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.  Working knowledge of event management; volunteer management and working with various levels of donors within a non-profit organization.  Intermediate computer skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PT - CHILDCARE SPECIALIST FELLOW
What It Is:
The Jill’s House Fellowship lasts one year, beginning in June, and is a paid, full-time job. You live and work with other godly people committed to serving children with special needs. Through our program, you will get to care for children with a wide array of disabilities. You will gain hands-on experience and deepen your personal faith by working with these children and living in intentional community. You receive compensation, benefits, and housing during the year of the program. Our goal is to develop a generation of professionals who love Christ and are world-class at caring for children with special needs. The Child Care Specialist Fellow will work under the direct supervision of a Child Care Supervisor and will be the face of Jill’s House to a group of children.  The Child Care Specialist Fellow will participate in leading a group of 2-4 children through activities throughout Jill’s House. This includes observing and monitoring behavior and activities to facilitate a safe and secure setting. One moment, you may be on the playground with your group; another moment, you may be singing in the Music Room or reading books. If you feel a particular call from God to work with children with special needs and to love them as Jesus does, we would love to talk with you. God is writing an amazing story at Jill’s House; perhaps Jill’s House is supposed to be the next chapter of YOUR story as well.
Description of Duties:
The primary responsibility is to provide guidance and supervision to a group of children, as assigned, during their respite stay at Jill’s House. Responsibilities will require judgment, accountability and keen attention to detail.  The Child Care Specialist Fellow will perform a combination of basic care, assistance with activities of daily living as indicated and activity guidance duties in safe, nurturing environment. Under the direction of a Child Care Supervisor, work with assigned children according to their Jill’s House Service Plan (JHSP) and encourage their activity and participation while promoting a positive experience for all assigned children. Requirements:
1.Recent graduate or graduating Senior with degree in nursing, social work, special education or related fields.
2. Looking for high-energy passionate people with hearts for special needs to serve with us for one year.

PT CUSTODIAN
What it Is:
Jill’s House needs a part-time Custodian (roughly 15 hours per week) to ensure that we keep our entire facility clean and ready to serve children. The hours will likely be during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), but we are happy to negotiate times with the right candidate.
Description of Duties:
• The Custodian assignments are to clean floors, windows, fixtures, stairs, restrooms, baseboards, and doors. The cleaning process is normally done with brooms, mops, brushes and cleaning cloths. The Custodian will buff, wax , vacuum floors, dust desks and other areas keeping the office clean.
• The Custodian performs routine maintenance duties like replacing light bulbs, emptying and taking out the trash, moving furniture around and handling various other responsibilities.
• In some situations, the Custodian may help maintain the external appearance of Jill's House by mowing the grass, trimming the bushes, replanting flowers when needed or any other type of lawn work as required. The Custodian will likely be involved with removal of snow in the winter from sidewalks, playgrounds, and other areas where snow might prevent the tenant/patron from entering.
• The Custodian keeps soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers filled.
• The Custodian will need to use cleaning supplies carefully. The Custodian may need to use various machines such as buffer, vacuum cleaners, carpet machine, etc. The Custodian must follow safe practices when using harsh cleaners on the floors and other areas.
• The Custodian will respond to staff requests for cleanup after spills. The custodian may be responsible for making beds, setting up conference spaces for meetings, and otherwise ensuring that Jill's House is prepared to receive children.
Requirements:

You must have custodial experience and a high school diploma or GED.

PT – CONTRACT CDL BUS DRIVER
Jill's House is seeking a part-time para-transit driver, ideally with experience with children or people with disabilities. The para-transit driver is responsible for safely, reliably operating a vehicle.   Bus routes run on weekday mornings (approximately 6:30 am to 9:30 am) and weekday afternoons (approximately 1 pm to 4 pm). You will drive our Nurses and Childcare Specialists to pick up children with intellectual disabilities.
Requirements: 
You must have:
• a CDL (Class C)
• a clean driving record (DMV check required)

Education:
1. Baccalaureate degree in human services; OR
2. An associate’s degree and three months experience working with disabled children

PT WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTORS - (Ongoing need--continually reviewing resumes)
What it is:
We are looking for energetic, creative, and enthusiastic Lifeguards/Swim Instructors to join the Jill’s House team in our brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Tysons Corner, who feel called to work with children with special needs.
This is a great position for a candidate looking to make a significant impact in a growing organization. Candidate will work from 1pm to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Description of Duties:
Position reports to Operations Coordinator and is responsible for the guidance and supervision of the children to whom they are assigned. Perform a combination of basic pool care, assisting children with special needs in pool/water-related activities and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment. Under the direction of Operations Coordinator, develop, adapt and participate in water-related activities, with specific children assigned to designated time at the Jill’s House pool. Assure direct one-to-one supervision is being followed, as directed by Operations Coordinator, while in child is in the water.
Requirements:
  • Weekends required, Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 4pm and/or Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 7:30pm.
  • Lifeguarding certification required, including Professional Rescue CPR / AED and First Aid (must be 15 years old for this certification.)
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of lifeguard and first-aid practices and techniques.
  • Ability and skill to carry out water rescues.
  • Pool Operators License preferred but not required.
  • Six (6) months experience in aquatics setting preferred.
  • Experience with swim instruction, prefer experience in adaptive aquatics but not required
  • Candidates must be loyal, dedicated, reliable, punctual, accountable, and possess a friendly attitude, excellent customer service skills and commitment to get the job done in a professional manner.

Description of Duties:
Nurses will administer medication to the children who stay at Jill's House. The nurses attend to injuries, handle all medical emergencies and manags g-tube feedings. Under the guidance of our Medical Director, the nurses on duty are the go-to person for any medical needs. As a general rule, we work when children are not in school. This means that most available shifts are weekends, weekday afternoons, weekday mornings, and days that school is out of session. Shifts vary in length from eight to twelve hours.
Requirements:
Minimum years of relevant experience: A baccalaureate degree and three years of professional nursing experience working with children of varying disabilities.
RNs:
1.  Master’s degree in Nursing Administration or related field and/or
2. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with current, active and unrestricted nursing license in the state of Virginia. 
RNs & LPNs:
Must have pediatric nursing experience with an understanding of the complex medical and medication needs of children with multiple disabilities. Ability to feed via tubes and possess ability to suction if needed. Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate medical records and charting systems for staff. Ability to promote good relationships with the families of children with special needs to ensure a healthy environment for all children. Looking for a nurse with excellent communication skills along with public speaking and counseling ability. Flexibility for evenings/weekends required.
